District Attorney Office declines to file ‘abduction’ complaint

KATHMANDU: The District Attorney Office has refused to lodge a complaint about the ‘kidnapping’ of its lawmaker.

Leaders of the newly-formed Janata Samajbadi Party had reached the attorney office on Tuesday after Metropolitan Police Range, Teku refused to lodge the complaint.

But, the office too decline to file the complaint and returned them.

The leaders have accused the leaders of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NPC)Mahesh Basnet, Kishan Shrestha and ex-Nepal Police Chief Sarbendra Khanal of abducting its lawmaker Dr. Surendra Yadav.

Leaders including Rajendra Mahato, Upendra Yadav and Ashok Rai among others had reached the attorney office in Babarmahal.

It should be noted that former IGP Khanal, leaders Basnet and Shrestha had brought Dr. Yadav from Janakpur to Kathmandu in what the party has dubbed as ‘abduction’.

In Kathmandu, Dr. Yadav was kept at the Naxal-based Kathmandu Marriott Hotel.
