SC orders to release Gyanendra Shahi



KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) has ordered the release of anti-corruption campaigner Gyanendra Shahi on Tuesday.

Hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Advocate Indra Prasad Aryal, a joint bench of Justices Purushottam Bhandari and Manoj Kumar Sharma made the order.

Earlier, the apex court had asked the defendants to furnish a reason for detaining him.

Shahi was arrested on the charge of derogatory behavior on police personnel.
