BIRGUNJ: The District Police Office, Parsa, is set to install CCTV cameras at 167 polling stations across the district to strengthen security for the upcoming House of Representatives election.
Police Spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Hari Bahadur Basnet said the decision aims to ensure that the election is conducted in a safe, fair and orderly manner. Continuous monitoring will be carried out through the CCTV system once installed.
The office plans to complete the installation and connect all polling stations to the CCTV network by March 1.
According to DSP Basnet, the cameras will enhance transparency and help make the voting process more secure and credible. He added that necessary security personnel have been mobilized, regular monitoring has been prioritized, and coordination with relevant agencies is ongoing.
The police have also urged all stakeholders and citizens to cooperate in ensuring that the election is conducted in a peaceful environment.
