Pedestrian dies after being hit by truck in Gulmi



GULMI: A pedestrian who was seriously injured after being struck by a truck in Resunga Municipality-7, Gulmi, has died while undergoing treatment.

The deceased has been identified as 25-year-old Pawan BK of Bhujelkharka in Resunga-7, according to the District Police Office.

Police said the incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when Tek Bahadur Khatri, 50, of Gulmidurbar Rural Municipality-7, started a parked truck (Lu 1 Kha 8907), which suddenly struck Bik, who was walking along Zip Park Road.

BK sustained serious head injuries in the accident and was initially taken to Gulmi Hospital in Tamghas for treatment. As his condition required further care, he was later referred to Chauraha Hospital in Butwal, where he died while undergoing treatment on Tuesday night, said Birendra Bir Bishwakarma, information officer at the District Police Office.

Police have taken the truck and its driver into custody and are conducting further investigation into the incident.
