KATHMANDU: Authorities have urged residents living along riverbanks in five districts, including Chitwan, to move to safe locations as water levels in the Bhotekoshi River have risen significantly.
The District Administration Office, Rasuwa, has advised residents in riverside areas of Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading, Gorkha and Chitwan districts to remain alert and take necessary precautions.
The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority issued the advisory at around 9:30 am on Wednesday, citing a high flow of water in the Bhotekoshi River.
The authority urged people living along the rivers and streams in the affected areas to remain vigilant and move to safer locations if necessary to reduce the risk of flooding and other related disasters.
