KATHMANDU: The fifth edition of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) school program will be held in Lalitpur, starting this Friday and continuing until January 6.

Organized by the Nepal Applied Mathematics and Informatics Institute (NAMI), the program aims to provide in-depth knowledge on AI foundations and practical applications.

At a press conference held in Lalitpur on Wednesday, Alok Khatri, Head of Education Outreach at NAMI, said this year’s edition would offer comprehensive lectures, labs, and project work on AI.

“This is South Asia’s largest and most unique platform, bringing together global scientists, professors, and participants for a hands-on learning experience,” said Khatri.

The program will cater to 200 undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD students from the field of computer science, along with professionals working in AI.

It will take place at the Premier International School in Khumaltar, Lalitpur, and will feature 25 experts from around the world.

NAMI’s founding director, Bishesh Khanal, said the institute has been committed to AI research and development for the past seven to eight years, with the goal of creating AI solutions that enhance the quality of life and meet human needs.
