KATHMANDU: Police have arrested Rabi Lamichhane, the Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) on Friday evening.

Earlier, the District Court of Kaski had issued arrest warrants for 14 individuals, including Rabi Lamichhane as part of the ongoing investigation into the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud case.

On Friday, the District Police Office in Kaski requested these warrants from the court.

The police stated that they had collected substantial evidence, including witness testimonies, supporting the arrests under Section 9(3) of the Civil Code of Criminal Procedure, 2074.

The court approved the arrest of the following individuals: Bishal Tamang, Nabin Achami, Rabeena Rimal, Ashraf Ali Siddiqui, Deepak Lama, Ananta Babu Rai, Ram Bahadur Khanal, Devendra Babu Rai, Bigyan Rai, Omprakash Gurung, Bir Bahadur Ranabhat, Dipa Neupane, and Kalpana Kumari Shrestha, along with Lamichhane.
