Rs 3.5 bln embezzled through fake VAT bills



KATHMANDU: The Department of Revenue Investigation  has unveiled an embezzlement of Rs 3.5 billion through tax evasion.

The Department had filed a case against 134 business firms few months ago accusing them of misappropriating Rs 19 billion through tax evasion.

According to the report of the Department, the business companies carried out transaction through fake Value Added Tax (VAT) bills which they produced  by establishing 80 fake companies.
