KATHMANDU: The secretariat meeting of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) has instructed its subordinate committees to recommend the names of candidates for the by-election.

The meeting of the secretariat held at Prime Minister’s official residence at Baluwatar today issued the directives to the party’s subordinate committees to recommend three names each from the district committee and province committee by October 24 for the by-election to be held on November 30 this year, NCP Spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha said.

The NCP central committee will now decide the names of the candidates to vie for the vacant posts in the House of Representatives (HoR) and the Province Assembly.

Likewise, the subordinate committee will decide the names of the candidates for the post lying vacant at the local levels.

Also today, the meeting nominated Bhanubhakta Dhakal, Asta Laxmi Shakya and Hari Adhikari as members in the party’s central organization department.

The meeting had earlier picked Bamdev Gautam as the chief and Janardan Sharma as the deputy chief of the department.
