Man turns car into helicopter after he fails to become a pilot (with video)

PATNA: Mithilesh Kumar, a resident of Chapra town in Bihar, has turned a second hand Tata Nano car into a typical “helicopter” after his dream to become a pilot crashed midway owing to financial constraints.

The “helicopter car” can’t fly yet it gives a feel of the chopper ride with car interior typically converted like a cockpit. It has rotor blade, a tail, tail boom and a rotor mast.

His dream into reality after seven months of hard works and spending Rs 11,00,000. The “helicopter car” has now become a big hit in the areas, drawing huge crowds of villagers every day. It is also very huge in demand as the people want to book it for wedding ceremony.

He said, “I wanted to become a pilot but since my family was too poor to pursue my higher study dream, I decided to fulfil my dream partly by at least riding a helicopter car. Although my ‘chopper’ can’t fly yet it gives a feel of a real chopper,”.

What is interesting is that the car has a control button panel similar to that of a chopper, which controls the functioning of rotor blades, lighting, boosters among others. According to him, he arranged scraps from here and there and then went on to remodel the car, applying his ideas and local engineering. It also has attractive lighting features which look fascinating during the night.

The man has also customised the interior of the car and even given a fresh coat of paint to make it look eye-catching. He said he has always loved to repair electronic items since childhood. “I would often dismantle the electronic items and then re-assembled them. I always loved to make new things out of scraps,” reveals Mithilesh who has completed class 12 from a local government school.
