Fiscal discipline a priority for budget implementation: Raghuji Panta

KATHMANDU: Lawmaker Raghuji Panta emphasized the importance of fiscal discipline in executing the budget.

Participating in the general discussion on the annual revenue and expenditure estimation for the fiscal year 2024-25 in the House of Representatives (HoR) today, UML leader Panta raised concerns about the next steps in budget implementation if the targeted revenue is not achieved.

He pointed out inconsistencies in the budget, noting a reduction in budget allocation for the agriculture sector despite the Finance Minister’s announcement of an agriculture promotion package.

Lawmaker Panta recommended that the Finance Minister adopt a more practical approach to budget implementation.
