KATHMANDU: The Janamat Party, led by Dr. CK Raut, has quit the Madhesh Province government, marking a significant shift in the political landscape.

Two ministers from the Janamat Party handed in their resignations to Chief Minister Saroj Yadav on Tuesday.

This decision, coupled with the party’s departure from the government, has prompted a withdrawal of support for the coalition government.

General Secretary Dr. Chandan Singh, who is also a minister from the Janamat Party, revealed that the departure from the Madhesh government was a direct response to the unilateral actions of Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP) Chairman Upendra Yadav.

“We quit the Madhesh government by withdrawing support,” he stated.

The power tussle between JSP President Upendra Yadav and Janamat Chairman Raut has escalated lately.

The Madhes government included two ministers from the Janamat Party, consisting of 13 MPs.

Dr. Chandan Singh served as the Labor and Transport Minister, while Mahesh Yadav, the leader of the parliamentary party, held the position of Education and Culture Minister.
