Prohibitory orders in Kathmandu to be stricter from today

KATHMANDU: The prohibitory orders enforced by the administration in the Kathmandu Valley will be stricter from Sunday.

The administration said it would tighten the rules since the movement of vehicles and people on the roads has not decreased.

Kathmandu Chief District Officer Kali Prasad Parajuli said that quite a number of people and vehicles were seen in the streets on Saturday.

A team of the District Security Committee, including Parajuli, had inspected various places in Kathmandu on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the Covid 19 Crisis Management Center (CCMC) has decided to allow only a quarter of the branches of banks and financial institutions to operate during the prohibitory orders to reduce traffic congestion.

Similarly, government offices have been asked to operate with only one-fourth of the staff.

Three district administration offices in the Valley have imposed prohibitory orders from Thursday to break the chain as the rate of coronavirus infection has increased significantly.
