SINDHUPALCHOWK: Panchpokhari Thangpal rural municipality has honoured a study team of mountaineers who have successfully scaled the Panchpokhari Tilman Pass Peak and Yuwa Peak.
The mountaineers had successfully reached atop the Yuwa Peak at 12.26 am on Mangsir 26 (Friday). A six-member mountaineers’ team led by Mount Everest summiteers Maya Gurung and two Mountain guide had expedited the Panchpokhari Tilman Pass Peak of 5,300 meters and Yuwa Peak of 5,556 meters for the first time.
Expedition team coordinator Gurung said that all the team members have successfully completed their mountain journey as the weather was also suitable for expedition. The team comprising Kaanchhimaya Tamang, Dawa Sherpa, Soomar Wonjan, Milan Tamang, chairperson of Panchpokhari Thangpal rural municipality-3 Dima Tshiring Tamang had ascended the peaks.
The mountain journey was adventurous and productive, Gurung further shared. “The team came across trouble for not finding right path several times on the way to expedition. But everyone can easily scale the Tilman Pass if the route is made clear”, Gurung added. Chairperson of ward-3 Dima Tshiring Tamang said the rural municipality would take initiative to make the expedition to the Tilman Peak and Yuwa Peak to promote tourism potentials.
