66 disaster incidents reported in last 24 hours



KATHMANDU: A total of 66 disaster-related incidents were reported across Nepal in the last 24 hours, affecting 52 districts, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority.

According to the Authority’s report covering the period from Monday morning to Tuesday morning, two people lost their lives and 13 others were injured in disaster-related incidents.

The Authority recorded eight snakebite cases, seven fire incidents, six floods, 17 landslides, 10 incidents of damage caused by incessant rainfall, one lightning strike, one animal attack, and two earthquakes. The disasters caused property damage estimated at Rs. 174,500. In addition, roads were obstructed at seven locations.

The Authority has urged the public to remain cautious while traveling during the monsoon season, warning of the continued risk of floods and landslides in various parts of the country. It has also advised people to avoid areas prone to floods and landslides and to check weather updates before traveling.
