National Assembly meeting underway



KATHMANDU: The National Assembly meeting has commenced. The session was held following the presentation of the national budget for the upcoming fiscal year in a joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament on Friday.

In today’s meeting, Prime Minister and Home Minister Balendra Shah is scheduled to present a proposal to initiate clause-wise deliberations on the Election of Members of the House of Representatives (First Amendment) Bill, 2083, which was received with a message from the House of Representatives.

Similarly, he is expected to table a proposal for the passage of the same bill in the Upper House. The agenda also includes a proposal to begin clause-wise discussion on the Voters’ List (First Amendment) Bill, 2083, also received from the House of Representatives.

In addition, the House is scheduled to consider a proposal for the passage of the Voters’ Roll (First Amendment) Bill, 2083.
