Truck driver dies in road accident in Makawanpur



HETAUDA: A truck driver has died after a vehicle accident on the Baguwa River bridge in Makawanpur along the Kanti Lokpath.

According to Madhav Kafle, spokesperson for the District Police Office, the truck was transporting construction materials for the Bagmati Hydropower Project in Lalitpur from Hetauda when it met with an accident last night. The deceased has been identified as 30-year-old Dal Bahadur Bartaula of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City–3.

Police said the truck fell into the river and was later retrieved with the help of mechanical equipment. The driver’s body was found in the vehicle. The co-driver survived the accident after jumping out of the truck before it went out of control, police added.
