KATHMANDU: A discussion was organized in Bangkok, Thailand on Friday among tourism entrepreneurs with the aim of attracting more Thai tourists to Nepal.
On the occasion, Nepal’s Ambassador to Thailand Dhan Bahadur Oli said that tourism has played an important role in further strengthening the deep historical, religious, cultural and people-to-people ties between Nepal and Thailand.
On the occasion, the Thai tourism entrepreneurs were given detailed information about Nepal’s tourist destinations, Buddhist pilgrimage sites, Himalayan adventure tourism, nature and cultural heritage.
Nepal was presented as an attractive, easily accessible and multifaceted tourism destination for Thai tourists. Especially Lumbini, Janakpur, heritage sites of Kathmandu Valley, Everest region, Annapurna trekking route, wildlife tourism, yoga and health tourism, wedding tourism, film tourism and mountain adventure activities were highlighted.
A total of 30,243 Thai tourists had visited Nepal last year.
Hoteliers from Nepal, including Hotel Dusit Princess, Aloft, Hotel Royal Singhi, Karnali Rafting, Mountain Routes, Kathmandu Holiday Tours and Travel, Pumori Journey, Himalayan Holidays, Adventure X, Lapara D Tour, Apex Himalayan Treks and Expeditions, Project Aim, The Pavilion Himalayas The Farm, Himalayan Treasures Trekking, Himalayan Journey, Barang Village Community Homestay, Core Treks, Nepal Airlines, Buddha Air, and 18 other prestigious tourism-related companies and organizations, and more than 100 representatives from 63 tourism-related companies from Thailand participated in the event.
The Embassy has expressed the confidence that the event would help expand direct business relations between the private sectors of both countries, identify new partnership opportunities, and explore opportunities for collaboration to promote tourism.
