22 injured passengers from Dhading bus crash brought to Kathmandu for treatment



KATHMANDU: Twenty-two injured passengers from the bus, which crashed in Dhading while travelling from Pokhara to Kathmandu, have been brought to Kathmandu for further medical treatment.

According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, spokesperson for District Police Office, Kathmandu, 12 of the injured are receiving treatment at the National Trauma Center, while 10 are being treated at National Hospital, Kalanki.

One of the 23 patients brought to Kathmandu succumbed to injuries; the identity of the deceased has not yet been confirmed.

At National Hospital, Kalanki, nine men and one woman are undergoing treatment. The Trauma Center is treating seven men and five women.

Among those at National Hospital are: Rajesh Kunwar (33) from Sitapaila, Suvin Malla (18) from Bhakte, Tanahun, Pratibha Paudel (35) from Lekhnath, Kaski, Chandra Ashish Phuyal (23) from Devinagar, Kaski, Sangam Malla (19) from Lolang, Kathmandu, Pramila Bhattarai (39) from Chisuwa, Kaski, Dammar Bahadur BK (64) from Fedikhola, Syangja, Krishna Tiwari (25) from Kalanki, Kathmandu, Sunam Gurung (20) from Kaski, and Rajendra Bisunke (36) from Dhunibesi, Dhading.

Those receiving treatment at the Trauma Center include: Chinese national Ki Misie Hao (22), Anji Sherpa (48) from Bauddha, Kathmandu, Som Prasad Malla (45) from Tanahun, Bipin Manandhar (30) from Jhapa, Puja Phuyal (28) from Gokarna, Kathmandu, Sachindra Sunar (26) from Fedikhola, Syangja, and Pradeep Lamichhane from Lekhnath, Kaski.

Additional patients under care at the Trauma Center include Norbu Palden from Bouddha, Kathmandu, Swarnima Khatri from Kapan, Salina Pariyar (19) from Kaski, Man Bahadur Thapa (44) from Tanahun, and Lhamsangoli Lama (48) from Bouddha, Kathmandu.

The accident, which occurred early Monday in Benighat Rorang, Dhading, claimed 18 lives and left 26 others injured. Rescue and medical operations are ongoing.
