Five arrested for jewelry theft in Myagdi



MYAGDI: Police have arrested five people from Bara and Parsa for allegedly stealing jewelry in Myagdi.

According to the District Police Office, the arrested individuals have been identified as Akash Raya of Bara, Lalbabu Raya of Parsa, Pramod Kumar, Sunil Kumar Raya and a minor. They have been detained for investigation.

Police Inspector Sagar Timilsina said the suspects were arrested while fleeing toward Arthunge in Beni Municipality-6. They were remanded in custody for three days for investigation with permission from the Myagdi District Court.

According to Timilsina, the suspects allegedly stole a gold chain worn by local resident Bhadra Kumari Karki, who had gone to worship at the Jagannath Temple in Gajne, Beni Municipality-5, on Monday, and then fled the scene.

Police said their investigation has also revealed that the suspects may have been involved in other theft incidents in Myagdi.
