Ballot paper printing completed for HoR election



BHAKTAPUR: Printing of all ballot papers required for the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election scheduled for March 5 has been completed.

According to Yadunath Paudel, Managing Director of Janak Education Materials Centre Ltd., the responsibility assigned by the Election Commission Nepal to print the ballot papers was completed on Monday evening.

Paudel said the ballot papers will now be packaged and transported to the respective provinces starting today.

“We have completed the printing of 20.3 million ballot papers under the first-past-the-post category as of Monday evening,” Paudel said. “Although we began the task with a 42-day schedule, we were able to complete it within 40 days. We will ensure delivery of ballot papers to all districts within the next 10 days.”

The Centre had been printing between 1.3 million and 1.5 million ballot papers daily. Earlier, 1 million sample ballot papers were printed and dispatched to various locations by the Election Commission.

Similarly, the Centre said that the distribution of 20.83 million proportional representation ballot papers to districts is currently underway.

Paudel informed that all ballot papers have already reached Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and arrangements are being made to deliver the remaining ballot papers to other regions within 10 days.
