KATHMANDU: Police have arrested a person in possession of over Rs 200 million in cash from the Jhor area of Tokha Municipality-1.
According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Ramesh Basnet, the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, Teku, conducted the operation last night and seized the cash from a truck bearing the number Na 1 Kha 1652.
The confiscated amount reportedly includes Nepali rupees, US dollars, euros, and various other foreign currencies. However, the identity of the arrested individual has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities are currently investigating the source and purpose of the massive sum of cash, amid growing concerns over illegal financial transactions and money laundering activities in the region.
