Five hydropower projects in Raghuganga commit to address local demands



 

MYAGDI: Five hydropower projects under construction in Raghuganga Rural Municipality have committed to addressing the demands of local communities as part of their corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts.

The projects, including the 40-MW Rahughat, 22.5-MW Borokhola ‘A’, 35.5-MW Rahughat Mangale, 21.3-MW Borokhola, and 48.5-MW Upper Rahughat, have agreed in writing to undertake various works following intense pressure from locals.

After discussions with political parties, local representatives, and community members, the projects have agreed to meet several key demands, including the urgent up-gradation of dilapidated roads in the area.

The hydropower companies have committed to fulfilling a 33-point written demand from the local people, marking a significant step towards fostering better relations between the projects and the community.
