NA’s health camp provides free services to 525 people



GORKHA: A total of 525 people received a range of medical services at a two-day health camp organized at the local Ghairung Health Post in Shahid Lakhan Rural Municipality-6.

The Nepali Army, in collaboration with the rural municipality, organized the free health camp, offering services in dental care, dermatology, orthopedics, and cervical cancer screening, according to Birendra Shrestha, chief of the health section at the rural municipality.

Among the recipients, 358 were women and 167 were men. Forty-one women underwent cervical cancer screening, and four were found to be at risk. These women were started on treatment and were advised to follow up for further care.

In addition, 149 people received orthopedic treatment, 90 were treated for dental issues, and 22 were treated for dermatitis. Laboratory services were also provided during the camp.

All diagnosed individuals were given medications free of charge. “The service recipients were grateful for receiving medical care from specialist doctors in their locality,” Shrestha said.

Medicines worth over Rs 300,000 were distributed to those in need.
