NC General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma to Climb Mount Everest



KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Bishwa Prakash Sharma is set to climb Mount Everest, the world’s highest peak.

According to the Department of Tourism, Sharma has obtained the necessary permit to undertake the expedition during the ongoing spring climbing season.

Himal Gautam, Director at the Tourism Department, confirmed that Sharma has received an official climbing permit. This comes at a time when Everest sees high activity, with over 50 climbers having already reached the summit this season. Many others are preparing for their summit push tonight.

According to the latest data from the department, a total of 458 climbers from 45 different expedition teams have obtained permits to climb Everest this spring. In total, 1,140 climbers from 124 groups have secured permits to scale 27 peaks across Nepal, including Mount Everest.
