Landslides, floods block roads in several parts of the country



KATHMANDU: Several highways and roads have been blocked by landslides and flooding triggered by continuous rainfall and the Bhotekoshi flood, according to the Police Headquarters.

The Prithvi Highway has been completely blocked at Krishnabhir in Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality-7 after the Trishuli River eroded part of the road, making the route impassable.

Similarly, the road at Parewabhir in Gajuri Rural Municipality-2, Dhading, has been completely blocked after floodwaters damaged the lower section of the road.

The road connecting Mugu and Gamgadhi has also been blocked due to continuous rainfall. In Okhaldhunga, the road linking wards 6 and 7 of Manebhanjyang Rural Municipality along the Siddhicharan Highway has been obstructed.

According to the Police Headquarters, the Besisahar-Manang road has also been completely blocked at Shreechaur in Marsyangdi Rural Municipality-4, Lamjung.
