Biplav-led Communist Party of Nepal stages rally in Kathmandu demanding all-party interim government

KATHMANDU: The Netra Bikram Chand ‘Biplav’-led Communist Party of Nepal staged a demonstration in Kathmandu on Thursday, demanding the formation of an all-party interim government.

The rally, which began at Shanti Batika, marched through major thoroughfares before converging into a mass assembly at Bhrikutimandap.

According to the party, the demonstration was organized to make public its position on the recent political developments following the Gen-Z movement and to press for broader political restructuring through consensus.

General Secretary Netra Bikram Chand (Biplav) is scheduled to address the mass gathering, where he is expected to outline the party’s stance on the country’s political direction and call for unity among leftist forces.

Party leaders said the demand for an all-party interim government stems from what they describe as the failure of existing power arrangements to address national crises and public concerns.

The Biplav-led party, which has remained critical of the current political leadership, has been calling for a new political roadmap guided by national independence, social justice, and people’s participation in governance.
