Sudan Gurung demands immediate resignation of Home Minister Aryal

KATHMANDU: Sudan Gurung, a leader of the Gen-Z movement, has demanded the immediate resignation of Home Minister Om Prakash Aryal, criticizing the government’s inaction, weak anti-corruption measures, and delays in delivering justice.

In a strong message shared on social media, Gurung sharply condemned the minister, saying, “While the nation demands action against murderers and corrupt officials, the Home Minister remains deaf to these calls and instead targets the Gen-Z movement; this is an insult to the country.”

Gurung accused Aryal of breaking public trust and urged him to relinquish his responsibilities immediately.

“Two months have passed with neither action against corruption nor arrests of perpetrators. Such silence equates to supporting crime,” he said.

He further stated that while he personally had been targeted by false news and character assassination campaigns in the past, the current inaction of the Home Minister had extinguished any hope from the authorities.

“This movement is not a political bargain; it is the voice of youth protecting the nation’s future,” Gurung said.

Warning of potential consequences, he said, “This is not a campaign to shift the elections from 2027 to 2026. If the demands of the Nepali people and Gen-Z are not addressed, the upcoming election will not be allowed to proceed.”
