PM Oli to arrive from Bangkok today



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has departed for Nepal following his official visit to Thailand and participation in the 6th Summit of the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC).

PM Oli left Bangkok at 10:15 AM local time on Monday. He was seen off at Suvarnabhumi International Airport by Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Suriya Juangroongruangkit.

Nepali Ambassador to Thailand Dhan Bahadur Oli and Thai Ambassador to Nepal Supapong Sirisorn were also present at the farewell.

This marked the first official visit by a Nepali Prime Minister to Thailand, made at the invitation of Thai Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra. Prime Minister Oli is scheduled to land in Kathmandu at 12:30 PM today.

PM Oli was accompanied by his wife Radhika Shakya, Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba, Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Economic and Development Advisor Dr. Yubaraj Khatiwada, Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal, and Foreign Secretary Amrit Bahadur Rai, among others.
