KATHMANDU: Police have moved former Chief Justice Cholendra Shumsher Rana, who was taken from his residence, to a safe location.
“We have taken him to a place he considers appropriate. We have also increased his security,” SSP Santosh Khadka said.
Police took Rana from his residence in Maharajgunj at around 3 am on Sunday and brought him to the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office in Teku.
Around 10 hours later, police moved him to another location. However, police have not disclosed where he was taken. They have also not provided details about the nature of the security threat or who allegedly posed the threat.
SSP Khadka said police are working to ascertain the details of the reported threat. Police have maintained that Rana has not been arrested.
