Mountain flight from Nepalgunj to Kailash Mansarovar boosts tourism prospects

NEPALGUNJ: A mountain flight from Nepalgunj to Kailash Mansarovar has commenced, spearheaded by the efforts of tourism entrepreneurs’ associations.

Originally scheduled to begin last Saturday, the flight faced a two-day delay due to thick fog reducing visibility.

Tourism entrepreneur Keshav Neupane highlighted the significance of the mountain flight in reviving declining business and discovering potential tourism destinations for Indian tourists.

Neupane stated, “At least one flight for Indian tourists in the season will contribute to boosting tourism activities,” emphasizing the captivating view of Kailash Mansarovar.

Expressing joy over the successful execution of the mountain flights after persistent efforts, another tourism entrepreneur, Dr. Om Mishra, asserted that Nepalgunj city is evolving into a tourist destination.

Shreeram Sigdel, Banke chapter Chairman of Nepal Association of Tour and Travels Agents (NATTA), emphasized the connection between this new initiative and the potential financial upliftment of Nepalgunj.

He also stressed the need for effective air connectivity between Nepalgunj and Pokhara to further stimulate tourism.

Indian tourists who reached Kailash Mansarovar via the mountain flight from Nepalgung expressed their happiness.

Punam Bhusal, a hotelier in Nepalgunj, shared, “It certainly helps augment the tourism industry.”

Kailash Mansarovar, situated in Tibet, holds significant religious importance for both Hindus and Buddhists. It is a common pilgrimage site, predominantly visited by Hindus from Nepal and India.

The introduction of mountain flights from Nepalgunj not only facilitates tourism but also adds a new dimension to the city’s economic growth.
