Former SC Justice Prakash Wasti passes away at 71



KATHMANDU: Former Supreme Court Justice Prakash Wasti passed away at the age of 71 on Friday night after suffering a heart attack.

Vasti was rushed to Norvic Hospital in Thapathali, but doctors declared him dead shortly after his arrival, confirmed Supreme Court spokesperson Achyut Kuinkel, citing family sources.

Justice Wasti was appointed to the Supreme Court in 2008 and served until his retirement in 2013.

Following his tenure in the judiciary, he dedicated his efforts to human rights advocacy, serving as a long-time member of the National Human Rights Commission.
