President expresses concerns over disaster-induced loss and damage



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel has expressed concern and grief over the loss of lives and properties due to incessant rain.

President Paudel telephoned Minister for Home Affairs Ramesh Lekhak and obtained detailed information about the loss of lives and properties in the incessant rain-induced disasters today, according to the Office of the President.

Expressing grief over the loss of lives and properties in the incidents of floods and landslides across the country, President Paudel instructed the government to immediately carry out effective relief and rescue operations.

President Paudel has also appealed to everyone to extend support at the moment of disaster.

He urged all to follow the safety precautions and remain alert to avoid risks resulting from the incidents of floods, landslides and soil erosion in various places due to incessant rainfall across the country.
