Rabi’s statement concludes in Kaski Court



KATHMANDU: The statement of Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has been completed at the District Court, Kaski.

His statement began before the bench of Judge Nitij Rai on Thursday afternoon and concluded around 4:30 pm on Friday, as informed by the court.

A case has been filed against 31 individuals, including Rabi, in connection with cooperative fraud amounting to Rs 1.514 billion.

Lamichhane is specifically charged with fraud amounting to Rs 33.765 million related to the Surya Darshan Cooperative.

He also faces charges of money laundering, involving nearly Rs 280 million.

Earlier, the police had recorded his statement in the presence of the District Government Attorney.

However, despite this prior statement, the court records a separate statement, with an order to be issued following the closed arguments.
