Parliament’s deadlock not a political crisis: Bishwa Prakash Sharma

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress (NC) general secretary Biswo Prakash Sharma said the parliament’s deadlock should not be interpreted as a political crisis.

At a launching of ‘Aaranko Aago’ – a collection of short fictions authored by Kashyap Prasad Poudel in Kathmandu on Saturday, he argued that there was no political crisis in the country while calling for broader unity towards attaining economic and social transformation.

The economic crisis prevailing in the country is a real challenge now, Sharma said, stressing the need for all political parties to come together to avert the challenge.

“There is no political crisis in the country. A political crisis occurs when there is a violent conflict going on. After facing such crisis, we came on a path”, Sharma said, adding, “Economic and social transformation is the common thing to think about now, irrespective of the party and ideology”.

Through the book containing 21 short fictions, the author has attempted to reflect social realities and advocate for the preservation of indigenous and traditional practices gradually disappearing from the society.
