NC vote percentage has decreased due to coalition: Dr. Shekhar Koirala

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has stated that the party’s vote percentage has decreased due to the coalition.

Addressing the participants of the tea party program organized for the members who arrived to Kathmandu to take part in Mahasamiti meeting, he mentioned, on Sunday, although there is a sense of enjoyment in participating in the current government, the serious decline in the party’s vote percentage is a matter of concern.

Expressing disappointment among NC supporters nationwide towards the coalition, he emphasized the need for an open discussion on this matter during the Mahasamiti meeting.

Koirala stated that the current election system, which does not allow any party to give a clear majority, is the cause of the problem seen in the election system.

He maintained that the NC should take the initiative to address this issue.

The NC leader also expressed the view that discussions should be held with other parties to bring about changes in the election system.

He emphasized that preparations for the 15th General Convention should be made through the Mahasamiti meeting itself.
