KATHMANDU: Rabi Lamichhane, Chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), has stated that his entry into politics was driven by the lack of progress in citizens’ lives despite systemic changes in the country.

Inaugurating the national gathering at Nepal Academy in Kamaladi, Kathmandu, today, Lamichhane asserted that interest in the party is growing daily.

He acknowledged that the party faces both challenges and resistance but emphasized that their presence has become a significant issue for others.

Lamichhane urged leaders and workers to brace for substantial opposition.

Addressing concerns about the future of RSP, Lamichhane asserted that despite the party’s difficult journey, it remains resilient and capable of bringing about change.

He emphasized their commitment to achieving transformation through peaceful means, despite ongoing challenges.

Regarding the co-operative fraud case, Lamichhane clarified that the parliamentary committee had wrongly held him accountable for managing Gorkha Media, asserting that he was not involved in any fraudulent activities.

He reassured that the contributions of those who have played a role in the country’s transformation will not be undermined.

The ongoing meeting, which will continue until Wednesday, will address a range of topics including ideas, organization, parliamentary affairs, campaigns, values, leadership academy, and legislative amendments.

According to RSP, approximately 1,500 representatives from across the country are participating in the gathering.
