NEA warns consumers of legal action for unpaid dues

KATHMANDU: The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has issued a notice to collect overdue electricity payments from dedicated feeder and trunk line customers, following a directive from the Ministry of Energy and a decision made during an NEA Board meeting.

Letters have been dispatched to distribution centers instructing them to gather unpaid electricity charges that have accumulated from Magh 2072 BS to Baisakh 2075 BS.

Affected consumers are urged to settle their outstanding payments by the end of Kartik 2081 BS.

If payments are not made within this timeframe, NEA will initiate legal proceedings to recover the owed amounts, it added.
