Harka Sampang elected from Sunsari-1



SUNSARI: Harka Sampang (Harkaraj Rai), Chairman of the Shram Sanskriti Party Nepal, has been elected to the House of Representatives from Sunsari Constituency-1.

According to the final results announced on Sunday afternoon, Rai secured victory with 35,741 votes. With this win, the number of Shram Sanskriti Party representatives in the House of Representatives has reached two.

His closest rival, Goma Tamang ‘Sarin’ of the Rastriya Swatantra Party, received 27,249 votes.

Tikaram Limbu of the CPN-UML came third with 6,463 votes, while Surya Bahadur Bhattarai of the Nepal Communist Party secured 6,185 votes.

Rai had resigned from his post as mayor of Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City to contest the House of Representatives election.
