Rabi Lamichhane produced in Court



POKHARA: Rabi Lamichhane, Chair of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has bene produced in the Kaski District Court today (Thursday).

This marks the seventh time Lamichhane has been presented in court.

He has been in the custody of the District Police Office, Kaski, as part of an ongoing investigation into the Suryadarshan Cooperative fraud in Pokhara.

Lamichhane’s most recent 4-day detention period expired on Wednesday evening, necessitating his appearance in court today for a potential extension of his detention.

If granted, this will be the seventh extension of his custody.

Lamichhane was arrested in Kathmandu and has remained in police custody since then. Prior to today, his detention had been extended six times.

Lamichhane is under investigation for his involvement in multiple offenses, including cooperative fraud, organized crime, and money laundering.

In connection with the investigation, Lamichhane has been questioned regarding charges of fraud related to several cooperatives, including Suryadarshan in Pokhara, Supreme Cooperative in Butwal, Swarnalaxmi in Kathmandu, Sahara Cooperative in Chitwan, and Sano Paila in Parsa (Birgunj).
