NRB directs banks to operate on Holi and election day



KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has directed banks and financial institutions to ensure the availability of banking services on upcoming public holidays.

In a circular, the central bank instructed banks and financial institutions to keep their offices operational during the Holi festival and on Thursday, March 5, the day of the House of Representatives election.

The Nepal Rastra Bank has also directed commercial banks designated to handle government transactions to make necessary arrangements for payments and revenue collection.

Additionally, banks and financial institutions managing accounts for election campaigns have been instructed to facilitate services such as cash deposits, withdrawals, and transactions involving cheques or other negotiable instruments for political parties and candidates.
