KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) has opposed the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee proposed by the Nepali Congress (NC) to investigate Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane in the cooperative case, affirming its stance against individual-focused scrutiny.

During today’s parliamentary party meeting, RSP unequivocally dismissed NC’s call for a probe centered on an individual, asserting its commitment to resolving cooperative challenges comprehensively.

MP Manish Jha emphasized that the demand for a Parliamentary Inquiry Committee wasn’t entertained during their discussions.

He elaborated, stating that the matter would be deliberated upon in the Speaker’s meeting, yet RSP maintains its stance against it.

Jha reiterated the party’s position, emphasizing the focus on addressing systemic issues rather than singling out individuals.

The party president’s directive resonates with this approach, affirming their readiness to tackle all challenges holistically.

Additionally, discussions during the meeting revolved around the forthcoming budget session, with the party chairman emphasizing active participation from parliamentarians.

Addressing the prevailing political landscape, the chairman provided insights into the current scenario.

Meanwhile, the party has also alleged the main opposition party, Nepali Congress, of fostering political instability in the country.

RSP members unanimously concluded that the NC’s ‘obstructionist tactics’ are aimed at disrupting the smooth functioning of the Parliament, possibly influenced by external interests.

Following the session, RSP co-spokesperson Manish Jha underscored that the NC’s are exacerbating the nation’s vulnerability to instability.
