KU to launch Bachelor’s Program in Aviation Management

DHULIKHL: Kathmandu University (KU) is set to introduce a Bachelor’s degree program in Aviation Management.

The initiative, launched by KU’s School of Management in collaboration with Simrik Venture and Siddhartha Banasthali School, marks the university’s first foray into aviation education in Nepal.

The inaugural class will enroll 33 students this year. This four-year program is designed to equip students with comprehensive knowledge and skills in aviation operations and the effective management of airlines and airports, according to Rameshwor Thapa, Chairman of Simrik Venture.

The curriculum will cover a range of topics including aviation laws, security, airport planning and management, aviation marketing, airline operations, aviation economics, tourism, and human resource management.

“These courses will offer practical training in managing aviation activities,” Thapa emphasized.

KU Vice Chancellor Dr. Bhola Thapa highlighted the program’s goal of cultivating skilled professionals in the field.

“This is a pioneering effort in Nepal. We are confident that it will significantly contribute to the development of skilled human resources in aviation,” Dr. Thapa added.
