Opposition party plans to obstruct HoR meeting today

KATHMANDU: The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) is set to obstruct today’s House of Representatives (HoR) meeting, as per party sources.

Their obstruction aims to demand action against those responsible for the Balkumari incident and address the grievances of agitating farmers and victims of loan sharking and microfinances.

The main opposition party, CPN-UML, has also been regularly obstructing the meeting, insisting on the resignation of ministers implicated in corruption and the Balkumari incident.

The meeting, scheduled for 11 am, will feature significant presentations, including the tabling of the BIMSTEC Charter by Foreign Minister NP Saud.

Speaker Devraj Ghimire is expected to address changes in the names of members of the State Affairs Advisory Committee, according to the Parliament Secretariat.

Additionally, Federal Affairs and General Administration Minister Anita Devi will seek permission to present the Construction Materials (Management and Regulation) Bill 2080.
