Pokhara hosting eighth Mountain Festival

KASKI: The Nepal Mountaineering Association will be hosting the eighth Mountain Festival at Ratopairhe-based International Mountain Museum in Pokhara.

The event is set to be held on December 8-12 on the occasion of the International Mountain Day.

According to Association general secretary Mohan Lamsal, prior to this, the festival used to be observed for three days and from this year, its duration has been extended by two days.

At the call of the United Nations, December 11 each year is celebrated as International Mountain Day.

Screenings of six documentaries on bird conservation, mountaineering and mountain life including photo exhibitions and other various sorts of competitions on mountain sports are the parts of the festival.
