Conspiracies against the system will be foiled: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ said that the conspiracies against the system will be foiled, and urged all to celebrate Republic Day with great zeal acknowledging its significance and importance.

Speaking at a special ceremony organized at Tundikhel, Kathmandu on the occasion of the 16th Republic Day, the Prime Minister emphasized the adoption of federalism, inclusion, and proportional representation to address the unique structural and geographical characteristics of Nepali society.

Highlighting the country’s status as an independent, sovereign, and republic nation, the Prime Minister emphasized that the governance system was now in the hands of the people’s representatives. He emphasized that Nepal’s federal democratic republic system was distinctive and called for its integration with the people’s way of life.

The primary objectives of the existing system, he stated, were the socioeconomic and cultural transformation of the people, and he urged all relevant bodies, including the government, to work towards achieving these goals.

Stressing the importance of unity and cooperation among political parties and the public for the institutional development of republicanism, the Prime Minister emphasized the need for a steadfast approach to national issues to strengthen the foundation of national unity. He also expressed concern about attempts to undermine the achievements of the federal democratic republic, asserting that any endeavors to disrupt the system’s implementation due to certain weaknesses would not be tolerated and would ultimately fail.

The Prime Minister highlighted that recent circumstances in the country demonstrated that democratic development could be achieved within the democratic system itself. He called upon everyone to recognize the imperative of national unity once again to build a prosperous Nepal characterized by good governance and social justice.
