KATHMANDU: An uninterrupted spell of rainfall has persisted since the early hours of the day in various parts of Nepal.

The Weather Forecasting Division has reported that light to moderate precipitation is currently underway in different parts of the nation.

According to the Division’s projections, this prevailing rainy pattern is anticipated to endure for an additional forty-eight hours.

Sections of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, along with isolated areas in other provinces, could experience heavy rainfall today.

Furthermore, the Division has predicted the likelihood of moderate to heavy rainfall in specific hilly areas, primarily within the Sudurpaschim Province, as well as a few other locations across the country later in the afternoon.

Similarly, sections of the Madhesh and Lumbini provinces, along with isolated areas in other provinces, could experience light to moderate showers.

The Kathmandu Valley is also poised to encounter rainfall during the afternoon hours.

There is also a possibility of rising river water levels, leading to heightened flows, floods, landslides, and erosion.

The Division has highlighted that weather-triggered incidents could yield adverse impacts on public health, agriculture, daily routines, as well as road and air transportation.

In view of these circumstances, the Division has strongly advised individuals to take essential precautions in order to alleviate any potential inconveniences, hazards, or damages that might ensue due to these shifting weather conditions.
