KATHMANDU: The prevailing low-pressure system in India’s southwest Bihar is exerting its influence on Nepal’s weather, ushering in daily rainfall.
Currently, areas within Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, along with isolated spots in other regions, are experiencing light to moderate precipitation, as reported by the Weather Forecast Division.
In the afternoon, the Division anticipates moderate to heavy rainfall in several locales across Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Lumbini provinces, with a few more areas in the remaining provinces likely to be affected.
Additionally, there is a potential for windstorms in some parts of Madhesh and Koshi provinces.
The Division has also forecast a possibility of continued light to moderate rain in Koshi and Madhesh provinces during the night.
In light of these forecasts, the Division has warned that river levels may experience a slight increase, and there is a heightened risk of flooding, landslides, and soil erosion, posing potential disruptions to public health, agriculture, and daily life.
As such, the Division has urged the public to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damages.
