Minister Jwala urges Saudi Arabia’s partnership in Nepal’s infrastructure, transport

KATHMANDU: Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport, Prakash Jwala has proposed for Saudi Arabia’s partnership in Nepali infrastructure and transport sector.

He said this during a meeting with Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to Nepal, Saad Nasser Abdullah Abu Haimed.

During the meeting, the two touched on issues concerning infrastructure development and bilateral partnership in development projects.

Terming the Saudi Arabia as one of the major employment destinations for Nepali, the Minister proposed for the Saudi Arabia’s partnership in Nepali infrastructure and transport sector as well.

On the occasion, he said around 400 thousand are currently engaged in the labour market in the Saudi Arabia.

In response, the Saudi Arabia ambassador said they were ready to cooperate with Nepal in infrastructure and transport sector, requesting Nepal for presenting a substantive proposal towards that end.

The Minister also said that Nepal had already decided to support the Saudi Arabia’s bid for hosting the World Expo- 2030.
