Nepal’s festivals have historic and scientific value: PM Dahal

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has said Nepal’s festivals have carried huge historic and scientific significance.

In a message of best wishes today on the occasion of the Lhosar festival, celebrated mainly by the Tamang community from the mountain and upper hilly regions of the country, PM Dahal viewed that all ethnic communities have their own cultures and tradition.

“Nepal’s national culture is the entirety of all types of cultures. We’re multi-lingual, multi-cultural and multi-religious, which is a matter of pride. It is national asset in deed,” PM Dahal underscored.

He reminded that country got secularism, proportional representation and federal republic after seven-decade long struggle for democracy.

“For such achievements, Tamang Ghedung and Tamang national movements have played important roles, to which I pay high respect,” PM Dahal added.

He extended best wishes to all Nepali brothers and sisters in the country and abroad, while wishing for good health, prosperity and welfare to all on this occasion.
